God Is Sufficient

2 Corinthians 3:5: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Genesis 33:11: Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

I Have Enough written by Evangelist Wil Rice:

Have you ever seen the following scenario play out? It is Christmas time. Two siblings have presents to open. One child gets the super-duper play toy that he has always wanted. His brother automatically wants that exact present! If one child gets a different version or accessory, both kids want it. There can be a definite competitive spirit for what someone else has. The great thing about this is, you outgrow such foolishness as an adult, right? Wrong!

Jacob*s life was filled with scheming, conniving, and greed. You would never expect to hear the words *I have enough* from him. Yet when he went out to meet his brother, Esau, he was a changed man. Jacob began to take God personally and found that when you have God, you have enough. When you don*t cling to God and do things your own way, you will never have enough!

We think that we lack *things* like money, security, and direction. You do not lack something; you lack Someone. The question is not how much you have; the question is how much of you God has. The Lord made this point in Matthew 6:33 when He said, *But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.* Most of our day is spent on getting things, but you will always find something else you need.

Your one need today is a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ.

When you have God, you have enough. The alternative is to go after all of the things you think you need, but you will never have enough. Pursue the God Who is all the things that you need today. Can you say this morning, *I have enough*?
